Overview

We design and document special risk fire protection systems for high-hazard occupancies and process-critical areas: deluge, pre-action, foam, water spray, and (where applicable) gaseous suppression interfaces. Our packs align to ASIB, NFPA, and relevant SANS codes, and are compiled for consultant, authority and insurer approval.

What We Deliver

  • Basis-of-design and hazard definition
  • Deluge & pre-action valve room schematics
  • Nozzle/layout drawings for water spray/foam
  • Interlock logic (detection/trip interfaces)
  • Hydraulic demand and component schedules
  • Block plans, valve/signage schedules, as-builts

Technologies

  • Deluge (open head) & pre-action systems
  • Foam-water (chamber, bladder tank, proportioning)
  • Water spray (fixed pipe, ring main, monitors)
  • Interfaces to gaseous suppression (where required)
  • High-temp/harsh environment component selection

Compliance & Review

  • ASIB Rules & directives
  • NFPA 15 / 16 / 2001 (as applicable)
  • Relevant SANS & insurer requirements
  • Peer review and approval-ready documentation

Sample Output

Special risk system layout drawing sample
Representative sample only. Project packs include title blocks, revisions, and sign-offs.

Deluge Valve Schematic

Deluge valve room schematic sample
Interlock logic diagrams provided where detection or suppression interfaces are required.

Typical Process

01. Scope & Data

Define hazards, media, exposures and shutdown requirements; collect drawings and utility data.

02. BOD & Layout

Issue basis-of-design; develop deluge/pre-action/spray/foam layouts with coordination.

03. Hydraulics

Calculate densities/pressures/flows; size mains, branches, nozzles, and foam hardware.

04. Documentation

Valve room schematics, logic, block plans, schedules, fabrication lists, as-builts.

05. Submission

Compile approval-ready sets for consultant, authority and insurer review.

06. Handover

Final sign-offs, revisions logged; electronic archive delivered.
